DIY | Custom Phone Case
I am so excited to announce a super fun DIY collaboration with Casetagram today!

As some of you may have noticed by my improved Instagram photos, I just bought my first Iphone ever! And to celebrate: I am collaborating with the fabulous people of Casetagram and designed my own custom case.

It was extremely easy and a lot of fun to do:

I decided to use my ‘mug’ design and first drew it on paper. Then I took a picture of the drawing and uploaded it to the Casetagram website. (you can also use a scanner or draw it on your computer of course)
I always love to use this design, because I can mix the houses, and really create a ‘theme’. And the best part is that if you don’t like windmills ;) you can also do a Paris theme!

And if you are like me, and can’t choose which design you like best, just design 4 cases at once :
And if you’re not really in the designing mood to design your own case, feel free to use any of the above designs by clicking here.

And as a treat Casetagram is offering you a special 10% discount to order your own case! Just use the code: LANACASETAGRAM10

Here’s me showing off with my pretty new phone and case  :)

I have some wonderful news to share with you all: I am moving to New York!

I will be living in New York City for 3 months to work as a costume designer and photography intern at a theatre group! I am so excited and can’t wait for the new adventure to begin!

I am moving this wednesday, but not to worry I have some tutorials prepared for you to still keep you busy this week! And don’t you worry because I will keep on crafting in my new home, so the Lana Red Studio blog is going to keep on posting!

Living in New York City has been a long time dream of mine and I can’t believe that it is really happening:) I don’t know many people in the city yet, so if you are living in New York City or nearby, just let me know and I would love to meet up!

Oh and advice, tips or anything else New York related are always more than welcome;)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Organizing Desktop DIY

*****************************************************Update below the post**********************************************************

I have always tried to keep my computer as organized as I can, while keeping it as pretty as possible:)
Well today I will show you something that changed my entire view of organizing my laptop!

Because I recently found out that besides altering you desktop wallpaper, you can also adjust the icons of your folders!

And where did I get the idea from? Well, Ikea of course! They have a downloadable wallpaper of an Ikea closet, and you can use icons of their storage boxes to put in the closet, genius!

So I came up with the idea to do this myself. I designed a background with three different closets, and drew miniature icons of boxes, suitcases and a camera to place in the closets.

Now I can easily find the right folders and my laptop is even prettier than before!

How to get this pretty organized desktop?

1. Download the Desktop Wallpaper:

1280 x 1024
1600 x 1200
1680 x 1050
1920 x 1080
1920 x 1200

2. Download the icons to your computer.
1. | 2. | 3. | 4. | 5. | 6.

 3. And learn how to install the icons, here.

**Update**
Unfortunately the icons can only be downloaded in JPG format, while they need to be in .TIF format to be used. I have tried many ways to solve this, and so far the only way that works is to:
- Open the downloaded icons in Adobe Photoshop or Paint.
- Save them as .TIF
I have tried to use online converters, but it just doesn’t seem to work for this project. My apologies for this and hopefully I will find a solutions pretty soon!

A Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I hope you have a lovely romantic time

Inspirational Tuesday
I found these drawings and illustration via booooooom and really love them. They are made by the Taiwanese based artist Hsiao-Ron Cheng and I am her newest fan!
I just love the colors and subjects in her pieces and find her work very inspirational and original.
To see more of her work go here.

Paris
Drawing by me in the car :)

I am in Paris! Me and my boyfriend decided to take a spontaneous road trip to Paris, and it’s wonderful!
We are only staying until sunday so it’s a bit short and we are trying to visit as much of the pretty places  as we can :)
I will of course let you know how it all was very soon!

Au revoir! And have a lovely weekend everyone!

Art I Heart

I have been in the mood to draw lately, but I am pretty unexperienced when it comes to drawing. So I have been doing a little research on Etsy to see what kind of style I like, and I have found so many great things!
These are some of my favorites :)
